Tile Art

Mosaics are fascinating to me. I have a degree in studio art, so I have spent a fair amount of time painting, drawing, and taking some very unsuccessful ventures into the world of clay, but the idea of imagining, planning, and executing a piece of tile art is so daunting.
I love how they look though- blocks and shards of color fitting together just so. Artist Cynthia Fisher graciously walks you through the process on her website -it makes it slightly less intimidating and all that more impressive...

  1. I'm a fan of Roman mosaic art, and my fascination for it never ends. I am especially amazed when I think of the amount of hard work given to create a whole piece. It's really mind-boggling, the things man can do when the creative juices are flowing in overdrive!
